  • Mellieha Nights 11/09/2009 - 13/09/2009

The second edition of “Mellieha Nights” is going to be organised between 11th and 13th September 2009. The main activities will be held along the main streets of Mellieha and in the Main Squares.

A special guest that will be participating in “Mellieha Nights 2009” will be the Italian saxophonist Francesco Cafiso together with his group Island Blue Quartet. Francesco Cafiso performed exclusively during President Obama Swearing-In Ceremony and also during a concert in honour of Martin Luther King Jr., earlier this year.

An open-air “Art, Sculptures and Handcrafts Gallery” will be held in side streets along Triq Gorg Borg Olivier and Sanctuary Courtyard throughout the three-day festival. This gallery will be coordinated by Art Club 2000, Ladies Craft Circle and local artists.
Bodybuilding and gymnastis shows will also be held.

Those who will be attending to “Mellieha Nights 200” will have the opportunity to taste Italian food specialities prepared by Italian Chefs who will be coming over from the Region of Campagnia in Italy, for this occasion.
During these three days, the restaurants and other establishments along Mellieha Main Streets will remain open until late.Tourists and the general public are invited to attend.

Entrance will be free of charge.

 

  • Delicata Wine Festival 04/09/2009 - 06/09/2009

The 8th Delicata Classic Wine Festival will take place at the Nadur promenade overlooking breathtaking views of Comino and Malta. Once again, live entertainment and some delicious food and wine combinations will be available as well as a sit down restaurant overlooking the valley below. A shuttle service from Mgarr Harbour to Nadur will be available throughout the festival.

  • Qormi Wine Festival 04/09/2009 - 05/09/2009

The annual Qormi Wine Festival is back for its fifth consecutive edition, boasting a wide selection of local red, white and rosé wines of several grape varieties, provided by Marsovin. The 2009 edition will be held at the heart of the village core that will be dressed up for the occasion, during the first weekend of September from Friday 4th to Saturday 5th from 8.00pm until midnight. Besides food and wine, the festival also sees the participation of more than 90 artistes including bands, soloists and folk groups performing on three different stages. Entrance to the Qormi Wine Festival is free of charge. Those wishing to try out the several wines on offer should purchase a specially-designed souvenir wine glass for the price of €8, which will then be theirs to keep.

Indulge yourself in tradition by joining our unique Bread Festival in Qormi. Come, relax and enjoy our mouthwatering food, along with a sip of wine! A great night on the 12th September 2009 - full of entertainment performed by popular local artists. One can also go around the streets of Qormi and visit our bakeries, where you can truly appreciate the art of bread making (transport will be provided). Thursday 10th September - Official Opening from 19:30 till 22:00 and it's going to be held infront of St. Sebastian Parish Church
Friday 11th September - Forum from 19:00 till 21:00 and it's going to be held in the Pastoral Center in St. Bartolomeo Street Qormi
Saturday 12th September - Folklore Evening from 19:30 till 00:00 and it's going to be held in Narbona Square Qormi (next to St. Sebastian Parish church). Performance by the group Airport Impressions.
During these 3 days an exhibition will be open for the general public from 19:00 onwards at the pastoral center in Qormi .
